Hi, I'm Irina, your guide
I'm a passionate traveler who has explored 40+ countries — and a licensed guide who loves to share the one I know best. Chameleon Experiences is my way of showing travelers the real Romania: private, flexible, and built entirely around you.
Having spent years on both sides of the industry — as the traveler and as the guide — I understand what actually makes a trip worth remembering. It's rarely the sights themselves; it's experiencing a place at your own pace, with someone who genuinely loves it and helps you understand it through a local perspective.
Forty countries and counting
Long before I became a guide, I used to travel a lot. I visited almost all countries in Europe and some in Asia, South America, and Africa. I saw all the famous landmarks and postcard views, but also the ordinary streets, local life, and small moments that ended up being the part I actually remember the most.
Traveling widened my perspective on the world. The more of it you see, the more open you become to different cultures and ways of living, and the easier it is to connect with people whose lives look nothing like your own. That openness is the thing I value most from those years, and the thing I quietly bring to every tour.
The way we travel is changing. More and more, people want to slow down and experience a place rather than race through it — because the point was never really the destination. It's the journey, the perspective it gives you, the way it widens your sense of the world. Travel, I've come to believe, is one of the best catalysts for personal growth.
Becoming a guide
Every trip abroad changed how I saw my own country. I kept coming home to Romania and noticing things I'd walked past a thousand times — and started appreciating them more. So I became a licensed guide to share it with others too.
What I love most is translating Romanian history and culture for foreign visitors, making it easy to follow and easy to remember. Not a rehearsed script of dates, but a real introduction to help travelers understand the country and connect the dots.
Earlier in life, I trained as a psychologist, but left the field to pursue other projects. As it turns out, guiding uses psychology constantly — every traveler is different, so much of what I do is reading the person in front of me and adapting the pace, the depth, and the conversation to them. It's what makes each tour feel built for you.
I've been the traveler, too
As a traveler, I've been on plenty of tours — the forgettable ones, and the ones I still think about years later. That taught me what travelers actually feel, not just what they ask for. I know the difference between a day that feels rushed and one that feels right, between information and connection, between seeing a country and experiencing it.
That perspective shapes everything I do. I plan the way I'd want a trip planned for me: flexible, attentive, and built around the person in front of me rather than a fixed script.
All experiences adapt to you
A chameleon changes to fit its surroundings — and that's exactly the idea. Chameleon Experiences is a flexible, private, and personalized way to understand Romanian culture and everyday life, shaped around each traveler's needs, interests, and preferences.
No two guests want the same thing. Some come for history, others for food, architecture, photography, or simply a relaxed feel for the city. So the route, the pace, and the focus all adapt to you — to your interests, your curiosity, and how you like to travel.
