Bucharest First-Look Walk

The perfect introduction to Bucharest — and to Romania itself. We will walk the historic center while I explain how the city and the country came to be: the layers of history, the swing between monarchy and communism, and the culture, language and faith that still shape daily life. You'll leave with a genuine feel for the place and enough context to make sense of everything you see for the rest of your stay.

2–3 hours Private Easy walking English

Bucharest in Depth

For travelers who'd rather go wide and deep than rush a checklist. We begin in the historic center, then hop on the metro and local transport to reach the parts of Bucharest most visitors never see. There's no fixed route — we build the day together from a menu of places, following what interests you most. With more time to play with, we can slow down over a coffee or a proper lunch along the way.

4–6 hours Private Walking + metro English

What we can include

  • The Old Town and Victory Road
  • The Triumphal Arch
  • Palace of the Parliament (from outside)
  • The National Cathedral (biggest orthodox cathedral in the world)
  • Less visited old churches
  • A local market & everyday neighborhoods
  • Hidden street art

Good for

  • Curious & returning travelers
  • Anyone wanting to see more than the center
  • Those who like to shape their own day
No set itinerary — we agree on the stops that interest you and adapt as we go. A coffee or lunch break can be built in (food and drinks not included). We get around by public transport; tickets are cheap and easy to sort out.

Flavors of Romania

The surest way to understand a place is to eat the way locals do. This is a relaxed wander through the flavors that define Romanian cooking — from a lively local market to a traditional restaurant, a neighborhood pastry shop, and more — with the stories behind each dish and where it came from. Come hungry and curious, and we'll go entirely at your pace.

3–4 hours Private Tastings & stories English

What you'll taste

  • Market produce, cheeses & cured meats
  • Hearty traditional dishes
  • Fresh Romanian pastries & sweets
  • Traditional Romanian drinks

Good for

  • Food-loving travelers
  • Curious first-timers
  • Anyone who enjoys the story behind the plate
Traditional drinks — Romanian wine, țuică and more — are part of the experience but completely optional. Vegetarian options are easy; fully vegan is harder to pair with traditional cooking, but let me know in advance and I'll arrange something suitable.

Beyond Bucharest

Please don't let Bucharest be the whole trip — Romania rewards anyone who ventures out. This one is less a fixed tour and more a planning service: I'll help you shape an itinerary beyond the capital, with honest recommendations on where to go, how long to spend, and what's genuinely worth your time. And where it makes sense, I can join you as a guide on the ground — at the castles, in the medieval towns, or out in the mountains.
